Message: I go to Huron periodically for work and had never heard of this place before. Then, everyone apparently decided to tell me about it today with a level of excitement that I couldn’t refuse a visit. I thought maybe it was a new place, but it’s not.. If you’ve never been here like me, it can be slightly confusing but hang in there, the food is worth it! You walk into what looks like a kind of grocery / convenience / liquor store with a deli display counter in the back (with someone fresh slicing meats and cheeses for sandwiches). There are a few tables but not many. It’s a bit odd honestly. My coworker and I were visibly confused apparently because a man came up to us and handed us a menu so we sat at one of the tables and ordered.. I got the “Audra” and we were told to help ourselves to any number of drinks and chips though out the front of the store. I got a bottle of soda and a bag of chips.. Almost every sandwich on the menu says “open face” on it which I thought was unique. I initially didn’t want an open face sandwich but there wouldn’t be many options if I would have stuck with that so I decided to look past that and get something I thought I’d like.. It did take a little while to get our sandwiches but not horrible, they were very busy with in house and to go orders. When we did get our sandwiches the man came out and said, “don’t put those together” meaning don’t put the pieces together and make it a closed face’s sandwich which, honestly I had considered doing but decided against it since he said that. Anyways, the sandwiches came out and THEY WERE AWESOME! We both agreed that they were the best sandwiches we have ever had! Freaking delicious! Also, very filling! They definitely don’t skimp on meat or cheese. More filling that a foot long sub at Subway, tastes better and actually cheaper! When it came time to pay we were back to being a bit confused again, we didn’t know if someone would bring us a check or what but we finally went up to the register and just told the man what we got. A little different that you don’t order and pay first but I guess that’s how they do it.. Even with a little bit of confusion with the whole process of ordering and paying, a little bit of a wait time for food, and an ambience that’s a bit strange, the food more than makes up for all that to earn 5 stars in my opinion. I’ll be stopping by this place ever time I go to Huron from now on for sure! Now that I know the process and what to expect, my next visit should be a bit smoother. Can’t wait to try another open faced sandwich! I think I’m going to try to try them all! **update: I’ve decided this is my lunch spot any time I go to Huron. My goal is to go down the list and order every sandwich. I will update here with a picture of each and a rating. The first picture with the bites out of it is the Audra. So far, the first two sandwiches are the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. What magic is this???”. Audra - Hands down 5 stars. Cordts - 5 stars.
